ABAI Autism Comference '09

Our sketching process for this project was quite the journey. Autism is such a huge and emotional subject we didn't want to symbolize the disorder with photographs that referenced anyone in particular - since the autism has a huge age spectrum. We also didn't want to display the event as negative in any light since the conference was about all about the positive advancements with autism.

Below was our workspace to organize all of the event materials and color schemes. With so many printed signage for the event - we wanted to make sure the color scheme was working as a group.

We did alot of hands-on. The large poster was laid out by hand rather than sketching on the computer. Five out of the seven colors were created by mixing our own paints and matching them as closely as possible to Pantone chips.
